But who will really be Gauff’s next coach?

Coco certainly expected more from the US Open, where she was the defending champion. The American tennis player went out in the round of 16: in general this year she has not managed to win any Grand Slam tournament. Gauff, who has fallen to No. 6 in the WTA world rankings, has decided to part ways with her coach of 14 months, just weeks before her triumph at the 2023 US Open in the final over Aryna Sabalenka.

Gilbert, who has long been coach of Andre Agassi, announced the end of this collaboration in person with a post on X in which he did not fail to thank Coco for this journey that also led them to conquer a Slam.

“Thank you to Coco Gauff and the entire team for an absolutely extraordinary run in the summer of 2023 and for these 14 months of incredible teamwork. Coco, at only 20 years old, your future is incredibly bright and I wish you nothing but continued success. I cannot wait to begin the next chapter of my coaching career,” he wrote.
