Boris Becker was among the star names tuning into the Shanghai Open final, where Jannik Sinner overcame Novak Djokovic.
Djokovic has congratulated Sinner on his season so far after his Shanghai Masters victory, with the Italian now on seven tour-level wins in 2024.
His latest came via a 7-6(7-4), 6-3 success in Shanghai, where Djokovic was seeking a record-extending fifth title.
But it wasn’t to be for the Serbian, who was also looking to win the 100th tour-level title of his phenomenal career.
Sinner meanwhile has recovered from his China Open final loss, having been beaten by Carlos Alcaraz in Beijing earlier this month.

Alcaraz suffered a quarter-final exit at the Shanghai Masters, but he hasn’t been in any rush to leave, having taken in the final alongside Roger Federer and Juan Carlos Ferrero.
BBC Sport shared an image of the trio watching the match, writing on X: “Iconic. Juan Carlos Ferrero, Carlos Alcaraz and Roger Federer watching Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic in the Shanghai final.”
Tennis legend Becker shared the image with the message ‘Word’, while he also wrote on X: “Would love to be a fly on the wall and listen to the exchange between Roger and Carlos while they watch the final.”

Federer, Alcaraz and Ferrero will have undoubtedly enjoyed their discussion, but they will have also enjoyed the match that played out in front of them.
Veteran Djokovic was doing his utmost to cause somewhat of an upset against the top seed, but Sinner’s power and precision proved too much to overcome.
Djokovic thanked Federer and Alcaraz for attending, with the presence of the star duo having certainly added a bit of pressure to the two on the court.
But Sinner was ultimately unfazed, with the Italian producing another top-class display to pick up his personal best 65th win of the season.
He has now extended his lead over Alcaraz in the Race to Turin rankings, with Djokovic climbing three places into sixth.
