Boulter, on the other hand, struggled in the first round against her compatriot Harriet Dart, recovering from a set down. She then defeated Rebecca Marino and the 5th seed Magdalena Frech in straight sets before facing the former Grand Slam champion in the semifinals.
During the tie-break, Boulter lost 6 points on her serve and squandered three set points, including one on her serve. Conversely, Raducanu conceded five points on her serve and finally took the set on her sixth opportunity. A few minutes later, and still 0-0 in the second set, the umpire decided to suspend the match due to the impending rain in Nottingham.
The match will resume on Sunday in the first slot of the day. Later, the winner will face the final against the victor of the match between Karolina Pliskova (6th seed) and Diane Parry. Raducanu is just one set away from returning to the top 150 and reaching a tournament final for the first time since the 2021 US Open.
