Riddle appeared to take shots at Zverev before and during matches.

Alexander Zverev didn’t directly name Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend Morgan Riddle as the one that left him annoyed but everything points out that the German tennis star wasn’t happy with her behavior during the match as he suggested that “some who are not from the tennis world” were causing issues.

After Fritz came back from two sets down to beat Zverev 4-6 6-7 (4) 6-4 7-6 (3) 6-3, Zverev stopped the American at the net for a brief conversation, which seemed friendly without any tension – but it was clear that the German was explaining something.

Later, tennis fans noticed that Fritz’s girlfriend posted and deleted two Instagram Stories. In the first story that was taken down, Riddle wrote during the match: “Cheer loud ladies.” After Fritz defeated Zverev, there was another Instagram Story that read: “When your man wins 4 the girls.”

Riddle’s posts were undoubtedly a shot at Zverev and the abuse allegations that were made against the recent French Open finalist.

Zverev seemingly calls out Riddle: Some other people from Fritz’s box…

“His team is extremely respectful. I think his coach, his physio, also his second coach, they’re extremely respectful,” Zverev said after the match.

“I think there’s some other people that maybe are in the box that are not maybe from the tennis world, that are not maybe from particularly watching every single match. They were a bit over the top.”

Meanwhile, Fritz dismissed that Zverev had any issues with him or that he had any issues with the German.

‘I think he was a little upset about my team members cheering for me when he was injured but he said,’ It’s nothing to do with you. You’re all good…’ Whatever, it’s all good. I wasn’t wishing him a flight home so,” Fritz said.

After slipping during his third-round win over Cameron Norrie, Zverev wore a bandage on his knee during the Fritz match and he may have started to feel certain pain or discomfort in the last few sets.
