Andy Roddick believes Coco Gauff won’t rush to replace Brad Gilbert, trusting her current team for future success.
Coco Gauff’s recent split from coach Brad Gilbert has sparked discussions about her next steps. Gilbert joined Gauff’s team after Wimbledon 2022, helping her win her first WTA 500, WTA 1000, and a Grand Slam title at the US Open. However, 2024 hasn’t been as successful for the 20-year-old, leading to a parting of ways.
Reflecting on Gilbert’s departure, Andy Roddick shared his thoughts on Tennis Channel: “Obviously, out of the gates, it was stunning success. You would trade all of the tough moments for that US Open win.”
Roddick further questioned if Gauff would seek a high-profile coach or stick with her current setup, saying: “I don’t think she’d be in a rush to do anything because J.C. Farell is in her corner, and she’s comfortable there.”
Despite the ups and downs, Roddick believes Gauff is in no hurry to make immediate changes, trusting her current team to guide her next steps.
