Forbes have released their 30 Under 30 Europe list for 2024 – and several British rising stars feature on it.
The list recognises the top 30 stars under the age of 30 in the category of ‘sports and games’ from across Europe, and teenage darts sensation Luke Littler makes the cut after his remarkable rise to the pinnacle of his sport at the age of just 17.
Littler made the World Darts Championship final in his first appearance at Alexandra Palace in January, and has since won tournaments in Bahrain and Belgium. He is also flourishing in his first Premier League campaign, topping the table after 10 weeks following nightly wins in Belfast and Manchester.
Jude Bellingham also burst onto the scene at a similar age to Littler, and he is on Forbes’ list.
The England midfielder has continued to go from strength to strength since joining Real Madrid last summer, scoring 20 goals in all competitions for the Spanish giants.
He will hope to add to that tally tonight with the aid of Brazilian forward Vinicius Jr – who also makes the list – when his side face Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
Formula One star Lando Norris, 24, has been recognised as well following a promising year at McLaren.
Norris finished sixth in the 2023 drivers’ standings, but looks well-placed to better that this time around after collecting 37 points from the first four races of the 2024 season.
He has been touted for some time as Britain’s next big hope after Lewis Hamilton, and he is currently 27 points ahead of the seven-time world champion.
Jake Jarman, 22, and Alessia Russo, 25, are also on the list after impressive years in their respective sports.
Jarman has won gold medals in gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games, European and World Championships over the last two years, and will be aiming to complete the set at the Olympics in Paris this summer.
Meanwhile, Russo netted three times during the Lionesses’ run to the World Cup final last year before they were beaten by Spain.
One of Spain’s standout players from that tournament, Aitana Bonmati, 26, has made Forbes’ list after winning the women’s Ballon d’Or last year.
Tennis duo Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner have also earned their spots off the back of winning the Australian Open in January.
It was Sabalenka’s second Grand Slam triumph after she also won in Melbourne in 2023, while Sinner celebrated his maiden major win as he recovered from two sets down to beat Daniil Medvedev in the final.
