The Belarusian and the Spaniard have called each other their best friends previously. Sabalenka even believes Badosa is her ‘soulmate’ on tour.
“It is very difficult. It doesn’t happen very often that you can find your soulmate on the circuit because we compete against each other. The trio of Paula Badosa, Aryna Sabalenka, and Ons Jabeur have shown on multiple occasions that they are a close-knit group that likes to have fun. They are always remembering each other even if one of them is not present.
One such occasion was during the practice session at the 2024 Italian Open. Badosa and Jabeur sat down on the bench during a practice in Rome and the Tunisian called the Spaniard her ‘best friend on tour’.
She immediately talked about Aryna and claimed she did not know where the Belarusian was. At the time, the World No. 3 had recently concluded her Madrid Open campaign with a loss to Iga Swiatek in the final. Moreover, she was also celebrating her birthday a day before on May 5.However, the interaction did reach Sabalenka who commented on the Reel posted by the official Instagram account of the Italian Open.
