Elena Rybakina won’t be driving her Porsche she won at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix as she doesn’t have a driver’s license yet, and for the time being, her coach and mother will use it. The former Wimbledon champion acknowledged that obtaining her driver’s license is one of her main off-court goals.
The Kazakhstani player clinched the title in Stuttgart by defeating Marta Kostyuk 6-2, 6-2, and in addition to the trophy and prize money (€123,480), she also received a luxury Porsche.
Rybakina maintains her excellent form at the start of the clay swing
The world No. 4 won her third title of the season in five finals played. Rybakina now has 8 titles in her career, three of them on clay, and boasts a record of 26-4 for the season. Additionally, she is in second position in the WTA Race, just over 100 points behind world No. 1 Iga Swiatek.
In the semifinals, Rybakina defeated the Polish player for the fourth time in her career (head-to-head 4-2), who was the 2-time defending champion in Stuttgart. The 24-year-old tennis player leaves the tournament with a Porsche Taycan 4S Sport Turism, as is customary in several German tournaments where a car is gifted to the champion by the main sponsor.
However, the 2022 Wimbledon champion stated that she doesn’t have a driver’s license yet and that for the time being, it won’t be her who drives it but rather her coach Stefano Kutov or even her mother.
“The car, do you keep it? Are you going to give it to your sister? What are you going to do with the car without a license?” the interviewer asked.

Rybakina: “Well, I don’t know yet (smiling). For sure I will drive it around, and we are thinking to have it in Dubai. So it’s going to be for sure Stefano driving, maybe my mom, hopefully me soon. So yeah (smiling).”
