Ex-ace attacks Novak Djokovic for unsportsmanlike behavior: “He’s a skilled actor”

A former tennis star rips the Serbian champion through a controversial post on X

The epic match won by Novak Djokovic against Lorenzo Musetti exalted insiders and fans, but evidently the final result must have been indigestible for some Italians, such as the former tennis player Paolo Bertolucci, who, through a post on X, attacked the Serbian champion, implying the Nole’s unsportsmanlike behavior.

Against Musetti, some users on social media criticized Djokovic because he appeared to be in great difficulty in the second and third sets. Immediately afterwards, however, he managed to react in a great way and, in the fourth and fifth sets, to completely shift the momentum of the match.

Bertolucci commented on the Serbian’s attitude with a truly critical post, writing: “Nole has always appeared very suffering when things go badly, and handsome and lively in good times. Skilled actor!”

Djokovic will be involved in the round of 16 against the Argentine tennis player Frsncisco Cerundolo. The match against Musetti ended at 3am Paris time, after more than 4 and a half hours. When we talk about the Serbian champion we are talking about one of the greatest champions in the history of sport, certainly the most successful tennis player in history. Thanks to the victory in five sets against Lorenzo Musetti Nole reached Roger Federer’s 369 victories in Grand Slam tournaments and took away one of the few records he still held.

After the exhausting match against Musetti, Djokovic said at the on-court interview: “Hello everyone. I will try to speak in French because you all deserve it. You deserve a big thank you, you gave me great energy when I was down in the third set. It’s amazing that you stayed until the end. Who can sleep now? It’s impossible to go to sleep with all this adrenaline. If there’s a party you’re going to this evening, I’ll come with you. Allez! Big compliments must be given to Musetti. He is a very talented player, I even scored it for him at the end of the match.”
