After a very complicated second half of 2023 marked by injuries that prevented her from returning to play since Wimbledon, Paula Badosa returned to the circuit at the beginning of the year to compete in the Australian Open, where she could not get past the third round. Then she started to play in the Thailand Open and in the second round she suffered a physical problem that made her retire.
It was feared that she might have relapsed from the injury that kept her out of the game for months, but today the Catalan player has given the good news that what she suffers is an inflammation and that she will work to the maximum to be able to return to the courts as soon as possible:
“Good news all in all, I have not relapsed the injury fortunately. I’m going to work with my team now 24/7 to get the swelling down as soon as possible and be able to compete soon. Thanks for all the messages . We keep fighting…”.
