Harry Styles looks downcast after break-up from girlfriend Taylor Russell

Harry Styles has been seen looking sombre following his reported split from actress girlfriend Taylor Russell.

In upsetting news for fans of the star couple, they are said to have parted ways after 14 months of dating.

Harry, 30, and the Bones And All star, 29, decided to end their romance after a trip to Japan in April, during which they were seen together on the Tokyo subway, according to sources.

Rumours that the power couple had broken up began after the recent Met Gala, where Taylor appeared alone without her pop superstar beau.

A source close to the couple told The Sun: ‘Harry and Taylor have ended their relationship. They went through a rough patch after their trip to Japan and are taking some time apart.

‘He’s been in America and she’s been in London. They made a lovely couple and it was obvious Taylor made Harry happy.

‘Things have become strained recently though and they’ve taken some time out.’

In new pictures taken on May 18, Harry stepped out alone in London, where he’s often been seen enjoying casual day dates with Taylor over the past year.

The 1D star casually strolled through Soho, effortlessly blending comfort and style in a maroon sweatshirt and black shorts ensemble.

With AirPods in and shades covering his eyes, the Grammy winner clearly wasn’t overly enthusiastic about stopping to chat.

He typed on his phone as he walked, a stern expression on his face amid his rumoured relationship woes.

Harry and Taylor were first spotted together in March of last year, and it quickly became clear they were a couple.

In July, Taylor was seen looking starry-eyed at one of Harry’s tour dates. The singer was then seen in the audience at The Effect at the National Theatre in London, supporting his girlfriend’s foray onto the stage.

After-party pics showed the couple getting on like a house on fire

Since then, the pair have been seen cosied up together on several occasions, with many sources reporting they were very much in love.

The Watermelon Sugar hitmaker has kept this relationship private after a string of romances that played out in the public eye, and so far it seems like the possible breakup is equally as private.

She said in an interview with The Face: ‘You are going to be hurt – that’s the tax. The tax on a real relationship is the reality that you will get hurt, you will [have] grief, something will be lost at some point and that’s ok. It’s worth it.’

She added: ‘It’s something that I’m having to remind myself a lot.’
