Iga Swiatek has announced her sudden split from longtime coach Tomasz Wiktorowski. In her statement, the Pole reminisced about their achievements together while expressing her eagerness to start a new chapter.
Wiktorowski, known for his work with former World No. 2 Agnieszka Radwanska, joined Swiatek’s team at the tail end of 2021, after she parted ways with Piotr Sierzputowski. The pair staged a highly successful partnership during the Pole’s 2022, 2023, and 2024 campaigns, winning four Grand Slams together alongside 15 other titles.Speaking about her and Tomasz Wiktorowski’s separation on Friday, October 4, Iga Swiatek said:
“After 3 years of the greatest achievements in my career, together with my coach Tomasz Wiktorowski we decided to part ways. I want to start with a big thank you and appreciating our work together,” she wrote on Instagram.
Swiatek, who hasn’t competed since her quarterfinal exit at the US Open, also revealed that she is in talks with a non-Polish coach.
“Due to this important change on my team, I give myself a couple of weeks to start a cooperation with a new coach. I’m in the middle of first talks with coaches from abroad (non-Polish), because I’m ready to take the next step in my career. I will let you know when I make a decision,” Iga Swiatek said.

Iga Swiatek and Tomasz Wiktorowski’s partnership paid dividends from the get-go. Just weeks in, the-then one-time Grand Slam champion reached her maiden semifinals at the Australian Open in what turned out to be a historic 2022 season.
In April that year, Swiatek made her World No. 1 debut after winning the Sunshine Double (Indian Wells and Miami). The Pole also clinched her second and third Grand Slam titles at the French Open and the US Open.
“Coach Wiktorowski joined by team for 3 seasons, when I strongly needed changes and a fresh approach to my game. His experience, analytical and strategic attitude and enormous knowledge about tennis helped us to achieve things I’ve never dreamed of only a few months after we started working together,” Iga Swiatek recalled in the aforementioned post.
“Our main goal was to become No. 1 player in the world and coach Wiktorowski was the one who said it first,” she added.
Swiatek clinched her third and fourth French Open titles in 2023 and 2024 with Wiktorowski by her side.
“We aimed very high, we headed to every tournament with a clear goal to win it. Together with coach Wiktorowski, we won many tournaments and 4 Grand Slams,” she wrote.
The 23-year-old acknowledged her entire team’s efforts in helping her reach her goals.
“It happened thanks to my entire sports team, with my fitness coach and physio Maciej Ryszczuk and my psychologist Daria Abramowicz on board,” she said.
“Coach, THANK YOU, I wish you all the best. I know that you would like to rest after these 3 years of hard work and traveling a lot and spend some well deserved time with your loved ones and I hope you’ll get what you need,” the five-time Grand Slam champion added.
Iga Swiatek added five titles to her cabinet this season with Wiktorowski, which include the Slam in Paris and four WTA 1000s. She also clinched her first Olympic medal—a bronze—at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
