Jack Grealish agrees ‘four-week loan’ to Ibiza clubs after England Euro 2024 snub – with Wayne Lineker responding to transfer joke after Man City star freed for summer party

Jack Grealish has been left out of England’s Euro 2024 squad, leading fans to joke that he can now agree a “four-week loan deal” to clubs in Ibiza.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Manchester City forward was one of seven players cut from Gareth Southgate’s final selection for European Championship duty. Grealish has added another Premier League title to his collection at the Etihad Stadium, but struggled for form throughout the 2023-24 campaign.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Grealish is now being freed to spend his summer holidays somewhere other than Germany, with the 28-year-old expected to make the most of an opportunity to let his hair down. He has become famous for lavish celebrations on the back of trophy wins at City.

DID YOU KNOW?

Grealish is no stranger to Ibiza, or club boss Wayne Lineker – the brother of ex-England striker Gary – and they could join forces on the White Isle. One social media account has gone full Fabrizio Romano mode and posted: “BREAKING NEWS. Jack Grealish agrees 4-week loan deal to Ocean Beach – HERE WE GO.”

WHAT NEXT?

Wayne has responded to that post by saying “great news”, while George Lineker – Gary’s son – has replied with a string of laughing emojis. While a break will undoubtedly form part of Grealish’s plans during the off-season, he will want to prove a few people wrong when the 2024-25 campaign gets underway in August.
