Jack Grealish is putting in the hard yards during the off-season as the Manchester City star showed himself doing a solo training session in Italy on Friday.
The 28-year-old was a shock omission from Gareth Southgate‘s final 26-man squad for Euro 2024 and is clearly determined to get back to his best judging by his latest online update.
Grealish helped City and Pep Guardiola win their fourth consecutive Premier League title in May, but struggled at times during the campaign as he battled injuries and squad competition.
His drop in form cost Grealish a ticket to Euro 2024 and he has wasted no time in getting back on the pitch, this time choosing to train at one of Juventus‘ premises while in Italy.
Sharing a video on his Instagram, Grealish showed himself at the end of a training session on one of the Serie A side’s academy pitches.
The topless update showed Grealish walking around in the sunset on the playing surface as he recovered from the kickabout on the small five-a-side pitch.
He captioned his post: ‘8pm, 25 degrees, perfect,’ alongside emojis explaining he had been running and playing football while on holiday.
His current status at City isn’t believed to be under considerable threat with the Englishman signed until 2027 following his £100m arrival from Aston Villa in 2021.
However, he is keen to regather his previous starting position at the Etihad having had his playing time limited due to the success of young Belgian talent Jeremy Doku.
Grealish’s absence from England duty has given him a headstart on some of his rivals and colleagues with the winger enjoying a longer rest following the end of the season.
Jarrod Bowen, Anthony Gordon and Cole Palmer were all preferred over Grealish when Southgate announced his Euro 2024 squad, with some criticising the decision at the time.
England have so far endured a stuttering start to the competition after beating Serbia before gaining a point against Denmark on Thursday.
