Jack Grealish wants to stay and compete for a place at Man City under Pep Guardiola despite the summer’s links with a move away from the club.
That is the view of recruitment expert Mick Brown, who remains well-connected in the game after spells at Man United, Aston Villa, West Ham and other top clubs, as he told Football Insider that Grealish would not be in a rush to leave the Etihad.
The 29-year-old had been linked with a move away in the summer amid speculation that he had grown tired of being a rotational option.
Last season, he started just ten Premier League games and was often on the periphery of the side, leading to his exclusion from England’s Euro 2024 squad.
However, so far this season, he has featured eight times, picking up two assists in six starts as he remains a key option for Guardiola’s squad.
As a result, it appears he is now leaning towards remaining in Manchester and continuing to play his role in what has been a successful setup since his arrival.
The team are again targeting success in every competition they are in, and the England international is set to play an important part in those ambitions.

Since making the move to City in 2021, Grealish has made 133 appearances and played a key role in lifting three Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Club World Cup and one FA Cup.
Brown, who worked for over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, including a spell as Sir Alex Ferguson’s number two, insisted the winger would be comfortable playing a rotational role in City’s constant stream of success.
“I could see why he might want to go and be the main man somewhere,” he told Football Insider.
“But, on the other hand, he’s playing in a team that are winning three or four trophies every year and are always at the top of the league.
“At Man City, they have a number of wide players and none of them are absolute regulars. Pep plays them against certain opposition and very often will rotate them.
“He’ll get plenty of football even if it is as a rotational player, in a side that has consistent success.
“What would he want to leave Manchester City for? I’ve heard he’s happy there with the way things are.
“There would have to be some particular reason, a falling out or something like that, that he would want to leave where he is.“
