World number one, Jannik Sinner, advanced to the third round of Wimbledon after staying with an epic match against fellow countryman Matteo Berrettini, whom he beat in four sets by 7-6 (3), 7-6 (4), 2-6 and 7-6 (4) after three hours and 42 minutes of play.
Impressive numbers for Jannik Sinner, who make him the undisputed leader of Italian tennis, as he has also amply shown enthralling the group led by Filippo Volandri to the second historic success of the Davis Cup.
These were his words at the conference, at the end of the match against his friend Berrettini: “It was a tough match, he played and served above all very well. I made a few too many mistakes in the third set and his confidence grew but it was a great game and I’m happy to have won it in four sets.
