Actor Jamie Foxx posted a story last Friday where he obviously refers to betrayal from a friend you thought was authentic. His friend and fellow actress Jennifer Aniston liked the post initially but the entire situation was confused by outrage. People who have a problem with the phrase, ‘They killed Jesus’ are the ones who think the post was anti-semitic. Historically, this phrase was always used to slander Jewish people for killing Jesus Christ. It is used as a way to insult them and often used as an anti-semitic slur. But Jamie Foxx never meant for it to seem that way, nor did Jennifer Aniston. Immediately after Jamie Foxx saw the reaction it casued, he made another post to apologize to the Jewish community and explain what he meant.

Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Aniston apologize

Clearly, none of both actors meant to seem anti-semitic with this and they are completely aware of the reactions they caused. He wrote: “I want to apologize to the Jewish community and everyone who was offended by my post. I now know my choice of words have caused offense and I’m sorry. That was never my intent. o clarify, I was betrayed by a fake friend and that’s what I meant with ‘they,’ not anything more. I only have love in my heart for everyone. I love and support the Jewish community. My deepest apologies to anyone who was offended.”

Jennifer Aniston also wrote she in no way support any form of anti-semitism nor any type of hate. She immediately after realizing the effect it casused, wrote this on her Instagram story: “This really makes me sick. I did not ‘like’ this post on purpose or by accident. And more importantly, I want to be clear to my friends and anyone hurt by this showing up in their feeds – I do NOT support any form of antisemitism. And I truly don’t tolerate HATE of any kind. Period.” By the way, the quote from Foxx that caused all this scandal was: “They killed this dude name Jesus… what do you think they’ll do to you?”
