Jose Mourinho digs out Man City over 115 charges – proposing Man Utd should get 2018 title

Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has suggested should Manchester City be found guilty of their 115 charges, then his old United side should happily take the 2018 Premier League trophy

Ever since Manchester City’s Financial Fair Play position was made public, fans of Premier League clubs have been floating around ideas as to exactly how they’d be punished if found guilty.

Given Everton were slapped with a 10-point deduction, it begs the question of what punishment would City get regarding their 115 individual charges? Apart from the possibility of relegation, one main thing people want to know is whether those they’ve pipped to titles over the seasons of their apparent breaches would in fact get their hands on the trophies.

And that’s exactly what ex-United, Chelsea and Spurs boss Mourinho suggests should happen. Speaking to Rio Ferdinand and Stephen Howson for FIVE , Mourinho said: “Maybe there’s a chance we win that league (2018) because if Man City are caught up in FFP, breaking the rules, maybe they lose a few points and we win that title!

“Joking apart, we did the best we could do. Of course I believe – and no-one has done better. It was a hell of a job.”

No-one knows exactly what punishment City would receive if their case is resolved and they are found guilty of any charges. But clubs around the league could see their trophy cabinets bolstered considerably if the unthinkable happens.
