Jump in the WTA ranking for Simona Halep: The position she holds one month after the last official match

Simona Halep (32 years old) is experiencing an ascent in the new WTA ranking, which the governing body of women’s tennis has made public.

Although she hasn’t played tennis for a month, since the match with McCartney Kessler at the Trophee Clarin tournament which she was forced to abandon, Simona Halep has climbed in the WTA ranking.

More specifically, Simona Halep has moved up five positions, to 1130th place, even though she hasn’t been able to play tennis since mid-May due to knee issues.

Sorana Cîrstea remains in 29th place in the WTA ranking (1704 points), Ana Bogdan has dropped one spot to 50th (1149 points). Jaqueline Cristian has moved up one spot to 65th, with 986 points. Additionally, Irina Begu has climbed four spots to 127th, with 596 points.

Currently, Simona Halep is in recovery after experiencing knee problems, and it is uncertain at which tournament she will return to the court for an official match.
