Mahomes claims he’ll never let Travis Kelce leave the Chiefs after tight end’s contract extension

Travis Kelce is reportedly extending his current contract with the Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes took no time to react to the news of teammate and BFF Travis Kelce’s contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Mahomes took to X minutes after it was known that Kelce would be remaining with the Chiefs for two more seasons saying “I told yall I’ll never let him leave!! Congrats my guy!”

According to reports, the deal will now make Travis the highest-earning tight end in the NFL.

Travis is entering his 11th season in the league after being drafted in the third round by the Chiefs in 2013.

Since then, Kelce has become one of the top-performing players in his position in NFL history.

Along with Mahomes, he has been a crucial part of the Chiefs’ current dynasty, which has seen them win three Super Bowl trophies in the last four seasons.

Kelce made headlines over the weekend after attending Patrick Mahomes’15 and Mahomies Foundation Golf Classic gala in Las Vegas.

The 34-year-old jumped to the podium to help auction off four Eras Tour tickets as his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, watched from a front-row table.

Swift, who is on a current hiatus from her record-breaking tour, is expected to return to the States to perform a final series of shows in late fall.

The pop superstar is still reeling in praise for her latest album release, “The Tortured Poets Department”, which also broke sales records after one week of its release on April 19.

Kelce is expecting to join Swift in Europe when the singer resumes her tour before joining his Kansas City teammates for training ahead of the 2024 NFL season.
