Nick Kyrgios has dropped a major indication that he is ready to take his love relationship with Costeen Hatzi to the next level and possibly start a family in the near future.

In 2021 December, Kyrgios and Hatzi publicly confirmed their relationship through Instagram. Now, the two have been together for over two years.

Kyrgios, who will be turning 29 in May, acknowledged he and Hatzi have a happy relationship and underlined that he will do everything possible to ensure it stays that way. Considering how things have been going between Kyrgios and Hatzi, it should not be surprising that the 2022 Wimbledon finalist is feeling ready to “settle down.”

“I’m at that stage where I am looking to settle down and have a family. I think that’s incredibly normal,” Kyrgios told The Daily Mail Australia.

“I’ve lost in tennis, I’ve lost in love, I’ve lost in everything. I feel like you have to lose it to learn what you have.

“We have a great relationship. I want to continue to do the right things for us to grow.”

Kyrgios: Who knows? Anything could happen

According to The Daily Mail, Kyrgios said he and Hatzi have “nothing planned for 2024 in terms of an engagement or pregnancy.”

Already in 2022, Kyrgios started dropping hints that he would like to one day have kids with Hatzi. After being asked during a Q&A session in 2022 when he and Hatzi were planning on having babies, Kyrgios responded: “Next year.”

12 months ago, Kyrgios received a similar question as a fan asked him how many kids he would like to have with his current girlfriend. “Four,” was Kyrgios’ response.

While Kyrgios and Hatzi have no engagement or pregnancy plans for this, the eight-time ATP champion is not closing the doors or anything.

“I’ve got a lot of big things that I’m trying to focus on at the moment. But who knows? Anything could happen,” Kyrgios said.

Kyrgios reveals the secret to his successful relationship with Hatzi

Kyrgios, who is one of the most popular tennis players and Australian athletes, acknowledged that being a public figure and having people constantly talk about your relationship could be a challenging thing to navigate. However, Kyrgios and Hatzi have been able to figure out a way to function together in the best way possible.

According to Kyrgios, trust and “really good boundaries” are one of the biggest keys to their successful and happy relationship. Also, Kyrgios described Hatzi as a very understanding person who knows what to say or do in every situation.

“I think the best thing about my relationship is that we have really nice, really good boundaries, and we both respect them. We know that trust is really the only currency you have in a relationship,” Kyrgios said on the “What Now? with Trevor Noah” podcast,

“Once you break it, I think it’s really hard, especially in the limelight. Once it’s a little bit broken, it’s really too hard to fix. But she’s just present. I think that’s one thing that I say about my girlfriend.

“She knows the whirlwind of my life. Like when I travel and when I’m in the spotlight and what I’m doing with negativity or positivity, and I’m winning and I’m stressed. She’s just there.”

After starting his relationship with Hatzi in late 2021, Kyrgios was accompanied by his girlfriend throughout the 2022 season. Hatzi’s company did wonders for Kyrgios, who enjoyed a career-best season in 2022.

At the start of the 2022 season, Kyrgios became a Grand Slam champion after winning the Australian Open men’s doubles title with his close friend Thanasi Kokkinakis. After winning a Grand Slam title in doubles, Kyrgios also made his first Major singles final in the summer of 2022. Although Kyrgios delivered a great performance against Novak Djokovic, he still fell short in four sets to the Serb in the final at The Championships.

That year, Kyrgios was also a quarterfinalist at the US Open – won an ATP 500 tournament in Washington – and reached the semifinals on three other occasions. Also, it should be highlighted that Kyrgios managed to clinch wins over the majority of the top players in 2022.

Throughout 2022, Kyrgios spoke very highly about Hatzi and credited her for the success he was having.

Unfortunately, Kyrgios wasn’t able to continue his rise in 2023. After a career-best season in 2022, Kyrgios suffered an unfortunate knee injury, which forced him to miss the 2023 Australian Open and ultimately have surgery.

In June, Kyrgios started his comeback on the grass courts of Stuttgart. After just one tournament, Kyrgios started battling a wrist injury and he hasn’t played since.

Unfortunately, Kyrgios hasn’t managed to recover in time for the start of the 2023 season and he is missing the Australian Open. However, Kyrgios will still be present a lot at Melbourne Park this year as he is a part of Eurosport’s Australian Open coverage team.
