Novak Djokovic makes very telling statement on his astonishing accomplishments

At 36, Djokovic is still a very strong force in tennis and still setting major records and feats.

Novak Djokovic has warned his rivals that they will never manage to break his spirit as the Serb highlights that his career success is very unique and not something that many have accomplished in their careers.

Djokovic, who will be turning 37 in May, has been a dominant force on the Grand Slam level since becoming a Slam champion at the 2008 Australian Open. Since then, Djokovic has added 23 more Grand Slams to his collection, which makes him the first-ever man with 24 Majors.

Just last year, Djokovic enjoyed one of the most successful seasons of his career at 36, setting a new all-time Slam record and the new record for the most weeks at No. 1 by man or woman.

Appearing on the Today Show, host Karl Stefanovic asked Djokovic to address being the target of the younger guys and having a reputation as someone hard to vanquish.

“We have a saying in our country, ‘You can kill us, our body, but you can never kill our soul and our spirit. I really believe in that,” Djokovic said on the Today Show.

Djokovic ackowledges the magnitude of his success

“In the end of the day, how many tennis players in history are able to do the things that I’ve done and I’ve achieved. I’m not saying this to praise myself, I’m saying this to remind myself of, ‘Hey, pinch yourself, look where you are and look what you’ve done.’ At the same time, I feel like it’s one chapter of my life, there are more chapters to come,” Djokovic added.
