Novak Djokovic received the advice of another renowned athlete

The 37-year-old Serbian could not continue in the French tournament, where he was defending the crown, and after medical examinations he decided to have surgery 48 hours later in Paris to try to return as soon as possible and in better conditions for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Novak Djokovic received the advice of another renowned athlete, his compatriot Nikola Karabatic, who is one of the best handball players of all time and who retired at the club level after playing with Paris Saint Germain.
Karabatic, a Serbian national who will represent France in Paris 2024, suffered a strong knee injury when the anterior cruciate ligament of the right joint was broken and had to be operated, but arrived in time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to clinch the gold medal.
According to the Serbian media outlet “Sportal”, Karabatic himself recommended the owner of 24 Majors to operate to recover his health and return as quickly as possible to the competitions, in which Wimbledon could be, in addition to an Olympic Games in which the native of Belgrade will look for one of the few trophies that is missing.
