When it comes to playing and competing on the court, we both have that inner fire. I’m sure we’ll see a lot of energy on the court on Monday. He’s a spectacular player, who loves big events and playing these matches.
I’ll need my best tennis to win. Holger has always had a great work ethic. If he sees something that’s not right, he works to improve it. That’s what I’ve always liked most about him. He’s a complete tennis player. He probably lacks a bit of consistency in terms of results compared to Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, but he’s ready to do great things. Maybe he needs a bit more time mentally to mature and understand how to play in certain moments, but he’s already quite experienced for being only 21,” said Djokovic about Rune, at the press conference.
Nole and Holger often train together and share a good friendship. The Dane has stated on several occasions that the Serbian champion has given him great advice and that he has improved thanks to his support.
