Novak Djokovic to return to Shanghai Masters 1000: Five years have been too long without visiting China

The 99-time professional title holder did not have a set roadmap after the US Major, but has confirmed that his schedule has changed compared to previous years. The 40-time Masters 1000 champion will be one of the big stars alongside world number one Jannik Sinner, four-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz and world number four Alexander Zverev.

“I’m really looking forward to it. I’m really excited to see my Chinese fans, all the tennis fans. It’s one of the most beautiful tournaments in the world. Five years have been too long without visiting China, so I’m really looking forward to it ,” Djokovic told the ATP’s official website.

The defending champion of the tournament, Hubert Hurkacz, will also be one of the stars present at the Chinese tournament.
