Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness believes it could be time for Pep Guardiola to leave Manchester City when his contract runs out.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – admitted it would be a “difficult” decision for Guardiola due to the success he’s achieved at the Etihad.
The Catalan’s deal is due to expire in June 2025 and Man City chiefs are keen to tie him down to an extension.
Sources have told Football Insider today that Guardiola could be about to start his final season at the Etihad amid new speculation over his future.
The 53-year-old has secured 15 trophies during his eight-year spell with Man City, having claimed the Premier League title for a fourth year in a row last season.

Wyness believes Guardiola is starting to feel like Jurgen Klopp did during his final campaign with Liverpool after he left Anfield at the end of last season.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think Pep may be thinking twice about signing a new contract.
“I think he’s starting to feel like Klopp did that he’s done a good innings at City and may feel it’s time to move on.
“I know that would be a difficult decision for him, but I do feel he’s getting to that stage.
“He may need a fresh challenge in some way or some time off as Klopp has done.”
