Before coming to Paris, Alcaraz – who is currently ranked at No. 2 in the world – won back-to-back Grand Slam titles at the French Open and Wimbledon to improve to four Slam titles. Now, Alcaraz’s big goal is to win the gold medal in the singles event in his Olympic debut, as well as do well with Nadal in the doubles event.

Speaking to reporters in Paris, Nadal made sure to let everyone know what he thinks of Alcaraz’s current level and his expectation for the 21-year-old.

“I’m excited to play with the best player in the world right now and the one who will be one of the best in history,” Nadal said, via Pedro Fullana of Cadena SER.

On the other side, Alcaraz returned the favor to Nadal by saying that teaming up with him is “a dream come true.”

What Nadal said about Alcaraz’s Wimbledon win?

A day after Alcaraz successfully defended his Wimbledon title, Nadal kicked off his campaign in Bastad. And after his first-round win in Bastad, Nadal didn’t only applaud Alcaraz for his latest Slam triumph but also backed him to achieve a lot more before retiring.

“My impression is that we are talking about a player who is going to be one of the best in history. That is my feeling. He is a player with enormous potential. Life can change quickly, that is the truth. You never know what can happen in the future, but today, if we have to predict what will happen in his career, we predict amazing things,” Nadal said in Bastad when addressing Alcaraz’s Wimbledon win.
