Elena Rybakina admitted that her life has not been smooth sailing off the court so far in Paris, as she’s not sleeping well and is struggling with allergies.
Rybakina was forced to withdraw from last year’s Roland Garros due to a sickness that came on suddenly during the event. She tried to play with it but realized minutes into her practice that it would simply be impossible, so she pulled out.
It was very annoying for her because she looked really strong last year. Struggling like that is not new for the Kazakhstani player. She’s struggled with sickness and allergies before and allergies are back this year.
This is peak allergy season, so anybody who struggles with similar issues won’t be too surprised by the fact that the world no. 4 has been dealing with it as well. Another thing that has been plaguing her this week has been sleep.
“Yes. I mean, I’ve been struggling a bit with sleep, some issues. So, of course, I had to skip tournaments. Also allergies and everything. Now I’m feeling pretty well and focused.”
