Serena Williams returned as a spectator in the crowd at the US Open, also chatting with tennis players who were protagonists of the New York Slam, between August 31 and September 1. The 23-time Slam champion attended Jannik Sinner’s match against Christopher O’Connell, then followed the match of her countryman Tommy Paul and then met WTA No.1 Iga Swiatek.
“She was the one who approached me, I would never have had the courage to do it! She told me she was rooting for me, it was beautiful to receive support from a huge champion like her,” said the Polish tennis player about her meeting with Serena.

“I haven’t decided what that competition is yet, but I just picked up the racket, just because I love this sport, but professionally, I’m not sure I can do it now. I love the game. I definitely want to play. I don’t know if I’ll play professionally, but I need some competition in my life. I was hitting, right? You know what? I love this sport,” she explained.
