Stefanos Tsitsipas has been told he needs to have an extended run at the Vienna Open if he wants his girlfriend Paula Badosa to meet up with him during the tournament as the Greek also shed light on their “easy relationship”.
The tennis power couple spent some together in Antwerp last week as Badosa joined the Tsitsipas brothers’ trophy celebrations after Stefanos and Petros won their maiden doubles titles at the European Open on Sunday.
Not long after his emotional scenes and post-match party, Stefanos dashed off to Austria for the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna.
He kicked off his campaign for a second title in 2023 with a first-round win over local hero Dominic Thiem on Tuesday and will take on Tomas Machac in the second round on Thursday.
And he will need to defeat the Czech if he wants Badosa to join up with him in the European city as the Spaniard issued him a “warning”.
“Paula told me ‘you better to do well because it will be super nice’. She said ‘you better stay until Friday [in Vienna] so that I can come visit you’ because she is flying down,” he explained during an interview with former tennis player and current tennis analyst Barbara Schett on ServusTV.
Tsitsipas and Badosa first went public with their relationship in May when the former world No 3 was spotted at one of the Greek star’s matches at the French Open.
Not long after a joined Instagram account popped up, although they have since deleted all the images and videos, and they have not been afraid of declaring their love for each other publicly.

Asked how inspiring it is to have the love match, Tsitsipas replied: “I honestly think even if we wouldn’t have been tennis players we could have still found the same passion and love for each other.
“It just happened to come through tennis, which is a beautiful story because my journey started with tennis [and] her journey started with tennis. My father and mother met each other through tennis.
“It is such an easy love, relationship and I feel like we belong to each other. I don’t want to sound cliché or cheesy, but that is how it is. We have great communication.
“It is difficult to find a person who is going to understand the life of a tennis player and subscribe to it. In the case of Paula I feel like there is nothing that is being misunderstood or not in the same path.”
