It has been a contrasting year for Stefanos Tsitsipas in his personal and professional life. While his bond with his girlfriend, Paula Badosa, has grown leaps and bounds since the two got back together after their brief break-up, the Greek star is struggling for form big time on the court. His struggles were quite evident during the US Open where he lost in the opening round of both, singles as well as mixed doubles. Once a Grand Slam contender, Tsitsipas has fallen down the pecking order amid his poor run. However, he has something to salvage while moving away from the career’s chaos.
After a hectic US Open swing, Tsitsipas and Badosa set their feet in Portugal for a mini vacation. The duo visited the old town of Madeira where they shared some picturesque glimpses of their vacation. In one of the pictures that’s going viral on social media, Tsitsipas and Badosa could be seen taking a long drive along the beautiful island. Further, they also had a walk in the jungle as they created many small adorable moments. Additionally, Tsitsipas showed off his photography skills as he captured different poses of his girlfriend on camera behind scenic views.
While Tsitsipas lost early at the US Open, Badosa dug deep and made it to the quarterfinals. Tsitsipas stayed behind in New York to cheer for his girlfriend as she achieved the best US Open result of her career.
For Tsitsipas professionally, things have been going haywire in 2024. With his struggles for form being no secret, he also had an unstable backroom staff, as he fired his father as his coach. However, he would like to use this break as a chance to rejuvenate himself with new ideas as he aims to get back to his best. And what better opportunity than the Laver Cup?

After his US Open disappointment, Stefanos Tsitsipas sets his eyes on the Laver Cup, where he is quite a seasoned player. The Greek star has a win-loss record of 4-3 in this tournament and will be looking to get some wins this year.
During an interview, the 26-year-old highlighted how much importance the Laver Cup holds for him, as he said, “I’m there to try and give them the route, help them out along the way,” he said, adding that winning the Laver Cup came down to passion, consistency and attitude.
Apart from Tsitsipas, the likes of Taylor Fritz and Daniil Medvedev will also feature in the event. Team Europe will be captained by Bjorn Borg, for one final time before Yannick Noah takes over. Expressing gratitude toward Borg, Tsitsipas said, “He’s literally a living legend. And to have him on the bench, the guy does provide support, coaches from time to time. It was something very soothing and something very refreshing to have by our side. So, I’m grateful that he was able to lead us in his ways and to provide wisdom and knowledge within the sport.”
