One of the standout players of the 2024 season has been American Taylor Fritz , a player who returned to the Top Ten this Monday with the first Grand Slam final he played at the US Open, where only Jannik Sinner was able to stop him on his way to glory.
The current world number 7 will be one of the stars of the Team World team at the Laver Cup , which will be played from this Friday in Germany and which is one of the San Diego native’s favourite events.
“The Laver Cup week is one of the most fun of the year,” said Fritz, who highlighted the “team energy of trying to win something together. It’s something we don’t normally do in tennis, since it’s something individual and at most you celebrate things with your team, but not with others,” added the American, delving deeper into the magic of the event.
“Having the opportunity to celebrate with the team is always my favorite thing. I have a lot of fun when I’m with all the guys, we hang out together and support each other for the same goal,” said the US Open finalist.

“With the Laver Cup scoring system, you go into the third day with everything wide open and up for grabs, no matter where you are,” the 26-year-old said. It will be the last event with John McEnroe as captain, his place being taken by another legend in Andre Agassi, who will be in attendance in Berlin this week.
“John is so much fun and he’s a legend. It’s been a great honor and an incredible experience to be able to play with him and for him. He’s a wonderful guy and a great icon,” concluded Taylor Fritz.
