When the camera zooms in on Holger Rune’s player’s box during his matches, his mother, Aneke Rune, is always a regular part of the tennis star’s private cheering choir.
As the attentive viewer may have discovered – and wondered about – Aneke Rune is always dressed in black. She often wears leggings and long-sleeved blouses.
Now Aneke Rune herself explains why she stands out by always wearing dark clothes.
– I don’t have much time to shop, and black is just simple and reasonably timeless and practical. Especially when we are on dirt tracks that are dusty, and the clothing’s materials are ultra-comfortable in all kinds of weather. I enjoy flipping through fashion magazines, but there is simply no time to do anything about it when we are out for tournaments, so the decorations are mostly my bags and my hairbands, which I have added in my old days, says Aneke Rune in an interview with Jyllands-Posten.
Holger Rune’s mother also says that she often wears a beautiful bracelet as a decoration, and it is something that her daughter, Alma, helps to select.

Pack only a few clothes
In the interview with Jyllands-Posten, Aneke Rune emphasizes that she has lots of nice clothes at home and owns 20 pairs of high-heeled shoes.
But it’s not her outfit that should be the focus when Holger Rune plays, and it doesn’t bother her at all if someone thinks she stands out.
She also doesn’t pack a lot of clothes when she travels with her son around the world for tournaments. She always only has a small trolley with her.
