This poster has been barred from promotional distribution for Sin City 2 because it was deemed too sexy.
Actress Eva Green stars as Ava Lord in Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For and wears a sheer white silk robe with plunging neckline in the new first look posters.
However, censors for the Motion Picture Association of America have pulled its use after deeming it inappropriate due to the face that the ‘curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through sheer gown’.
However, the MPAA and movie bosses are working together to come up with a compromise.
An industry insider told E! Online: “The movie will submit ads and the MPAA will ask for tweaks to be made. There’s a compromise and that’s it.”
Green is currently starring alongside Josh Hartnett in the Dublin filmed Penny Dreadful, and she will feature in the anticipated sequel with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis and Josh Brolin, as well as a cameo from Lady Gaga.
Interestingly, the MPAA deemed Jessica Alba’s scantily clad grinding on a bar to be appropriate for release. In the film, the mum-of-two plays a stripper with a heart of gold.
The 33-year-old reprises her role as a stripper in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For but she said she would not show too much skin.
“I don’t want my grandparents to see my boobs. That’s it,” Jessica tells the June issue of Glamour magazine.
“It would be weird at Christmas. And, I mean, really, if you look at the movies I have done, getting naked would never ‘elevate’ the picture.”
The mother-of-two also spoke about finding feminism early on, saying: “Where I was from, you had to answer to a man if he was the breadwinner. My mom told me that didn’t need to be the case for me – I didn’t need to rely on a man.
“She taught me how to hustle. I was determined to be financially independent. So I started making my own money when I was 12 [with acting]. That was freedom.”
Jessica said that she was lonely growing up because she suffered from so many health issues.
“My life was tough as a kid. I was so lonely. And I felt really disconnected from my friends because I spent so much time in the hospital with grown-ups, and felt like a weirdo,” she told the magazine. “It’s a strange way to spend your time as a kid. All you want to do is play.”
