In a hilarious video posted on China Open’s official Weibo account, Alcaraz was mid-press conference when the moderator signaled for questions in Chinese. Caught off guard, the Spaniard appeared momentarily confused and unsure of how to respond.After looking around in slight panic, the moderator informed him that a translation device had been provided. Alcaraz could not help but laugh when he realized the device had been right next to him all along.
Alcaraz won the China Open title on Wednesday, October 2, after getting the better of World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the final. This was the third encounter between the pair this season and the Spaniard has managed to win all three to extend his lead in the head-to-head to 6-4.Sinner entered the final with a 16-match unbeaten streak including the Cincinnati Open and the US Open titles. Meanwhile, Alcaraz had not lost a set on his way to the championship match.
Sinner broke Alcaraz’s streak by winning the first set via tiebreaker but the Spaniard mounted a comeback and forced a decider. In the third set, the competitors were inseparable and they entered another tiebreaker.The Italian started on a strong note going into a 3-0 lead before Alcaraz rallied to win seven consecutive points and register a 6-7(6), 6-4, 7-6(3) victory.

Soon after their enthralling China Open final, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner were spotted traveling on the same flight to Shanghai to participate in the 2024 Shanghai Masters.
