Elena Rybakina hails from Kazakhstan. However, the 24-year-old was born in Moscow, Russia. And like most other Russians, Rybakina was actively involved in Gymnastics and ice skating early in her life.
With her tall stature being a hindrance, Rybakina switched to Tennis after her father’s suggestion. There has been no looking back after that.
In Wimbledon 2022, Rybakina defeated Ons Jabeur in three sets in the final to become the first Kazakhstani to win the Wimbledon.
At the 2023 Australian Open, she went all the way to the final but fell against Aryna Sabalenka.
