Gerwyn Price is the new leader on the World Series Order of Merit. ‘The Iceman’ has taken over the lead from Luke Littler after Price took the title at the Nordic Darts Masters last Saturday.
Price therefore took full advantage of the absence of Littler, who like Michael van Gerwen had chosen not to travel to Denmark. Next weekend in Poland, Littler can actually catch up with the Welshman, as Price won’t play the Poland Darts Masters.
With 30 points, Price tops the World Series Order of Merit, while Littler remained stuck on 25 points. Rob Cross has moved up and is now in third place with 24 points, while Michael van Gerwen (23 points) has been relegated to fourth.
The top eight of the World Series Order of Merit are assured of participation in the World Series Finals in Amsterdam at the end of the season. In the coming months, World Series tournaments will first be played in Poland, Australia and New Zealand.
Winning a World Series tournament earns 12 points toward the World Series Order of Merit. The losing finalist receives eight points and semifinalists five points. Reaching the quarterfinals is valued with three points, and players who lose their first game still receive one point.
