World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, riding high after defending her US Open title, leads with 1,615 points to defend. The Belarusian, who has dominated 2025 with two Grand Slam finals and WTA 1000 titles in Miami and Madrid, faces a tough challenge. Her biggest defense—1,000 points—comes from her 2024 Wuhan Open victory, where she aims for a fourth straight title. She also has 400 points from the WTA Finals and 215 from a China Open semi-final to protect. “Coco and Iga are the toughest physically,” Sabalenka noted on the Jay Shetty Podcast, recognizing the fierce competition. With 11,225 points, she holds a strong lead, but early losses could allow Swiatek to narrow the 3,292-point gap.
