Coco Gauff has shared a hilarious reaction to buying limited edition Wheaties cereal boxes featuring her likeness. Following in the footsteps of tennis legend Billie Jean King, the American graced the package of ‘The Breakfast of Champions’ shortly before the 2024 US Open.
Gauff is currently enjoying some downtime at home after the Asian swing. Following a disappointing North American hardcourt series, the 20-year-old bounced back strongly at the China Open, clinching her second WTA 1000 title. She also reached the semifinals of the Wuhan Open before losing to Aryna Sabalenka, allowing her to climb back up to World No. 3.
After an exhausting 30-hour journey back to Florida, Coco Gauff delighted in finally being able to end her month-long wait and try the limited edition Wheaties cereal that features her on the box.
“Waiting all month to get home to finally try it hahaha. Also I look a mess post 30 hours of travel so not too much,” she posted on her Instagram story.
The World No. 3 gave her seal of approval to the cereal’s flavor, expressing her excitement about indulging in food that was marketed with her face. She highlighted that the moment felt as “iconic” as the brand, which has a long history of celebrating acclaimed athletes.
“Sorry, did the first initial taste test on TikTok, but I am very satisfied. I used vanilla almond milk, and it’s really cool to eat cereal with my face on it. It’s something as iconic as Wheaties. So get yours before they are out, and thanks again Wheaties. Now, this is the real breakfast of champions.”
Coco Gauff’s love for the cereal was evident as she recently stocked up on four boxes, humorously lamenting how “narcissistic” it felt to buy something with her face on it and confessing that she had no intention of doing so again.
“Ngl buying something your face on it feels narcissistic asf 😠I’m not doing this again lol 🤣,” Gauff posted on her Instagram story.
Coco Gauff recently opened up about achieving a significant milestone, relishing being a homeowner at just 20 years of age. While the 20-year-old disclosed that she wouldn’t be doing a full home tour, she did share glimpses of her favorite room in her house.
Gauff showed off the book collection, adorable plushies, and Marvel memorabilia in her cozy sitting room, giving “all glory to God” for fulfilling the dream of having her own home.
“Life update: bought a house a few months ago. anyways this my fav room in it lol,” Gauff shared on her Instagram story.
“Another angle. def won’t be doing a house tour rn because the internet doesn’t have to know everything but just wanted to share this room lol i like it. but cheers to being a homeowner at 20. all glory to God,” she posted.
Coco Gauff will compete in her final tournament of the season at the 2024 WTA Finals, aiming to clinch her maiden title at the year-end championships. The 20-year-old will face tough competition, as the likes of Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, and Jessica Pegula are also headed to Riyadh.
