Russiaā€™s tennis starĀ Daniil MedvedevĀ has opened up about his relationship with Greeceā€™sĀ Stefanos Tsitsipas. The two stars were involved in a feud in the past on more than one occasion which was highlighted in the media as well.
Medvedev was recently quoted in a report where he revealed his relationship with the former world number three and stated that the relationship between them currently is ā€˜completely normalā€™. “In tennis, in general, being very close friends with someone is difficult,ā€ he said. ā€œYou need to know each other for a long time, have common interests – like Andrey (Rublev), Karen (Khachanov) and Roman (Safiullin).”
“It seems to me that now we (himself and Tsitsipas) have completely normal, respectful relations. Who knows, maybe there will be some more controversy on the court. But, in my opinion, everything developed only in a positive direction for us. Now we respect each other as athletes and treat each other completely calmly.”
Both Medvedev and Tsitsipas are currently taking part in theĀ Monte-Carlo Masters. The current world number four will face the winner of the match between Franceā€™s Gael Monfils and Australiaā€™s Jordan Thompson. On the other hand, the Greek tennis star will face the winner of the match between Nicolas Jarry and Tomas Martin Etcheverry on Wednesday.
