Daniil Medvedev reveals who will win the Roland Garros

The Russian tennis player – at the press conference – also explained the reasons for the defeat against Alex De Minaur

“Statistically I would say that Novak Djokovic is suffering with his leg, so I don’t know. Right now, looking at Novak dealing with this problem, I would say Carlos Alcaraz or Jannik Sinner, because they are playing well. Jannik had a difficult day on Sunday, but he recovered. Both have won a Slam and have experience, they are ATP No.2 and ATP No.3 So, in my opinion, Carlos or Jannik will win the tournament.”

On the sidelines of the elimination at the 4th round of the Roland Garros against Alex De Minaur, Daniil Medvedev talked at the press conference about many topics, one of which is who will be the winner of the Parisian Major. The Russian indicated Jannik Sinner or Carlitos Alcaraz, considering Novak Djokovic’s physical condition following the knee problem he suffered.

Medvedev, as mentioned, was defeated in the round of 16 of Roland Garros against De Minaur. After winning the first set, the Russian was then overwhelmed by the Australian, who had never reached the quarter-finals in Paris. Daniil explained at the press conference what this defeat depended on.

“I had a blister and that didn’t help me call the physiotherapist, but she got a little irritated so I had to treat her.
However, Alex played better. I’m sorry I lost, but I have nothing to blame myself for not having a good attitude today or for not fighting until the end. I did all that, but he just played better. My best wasn’t enough today, so I’m looking forward to the next match,”
 he told

On De Minaur’s improvements, the Russian said: “He has improved a lot in every aspect and therefore Alex can beat anyone. He has already beaten Novak, Rafa… But it’s also about understanding if you’re ready to do it week after week and become number 1, 2 or 3 in the world. I think he is close because he is a high level player. So it’s a matter of seeing what he will do in the quarterfinals, whether he will play like he played today or not.”
