Eala rankings up after Asian Games stint

After her recent stint at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala is on the rise again in the World Tennis Association (WTA) rankings.

From being ranked 190th in the world before the Asiad, Eala rose by one place and is now world number 189, as of Sunday, October 2.

Eala is ranked higher than former world number 10 Emma Raducanu, who is now ranked 279th.

The 18-year-old’s current world ranking is a new career high.

She was fresh off two bronze medals from the recent Asiad in Hangzhou, in the mixed doubles and women’s doubles, where she faced world number 23 and eventual gold medalist Zheng Qinwen.
