Holger Rune’s mother shares a very harsh attack against media

During a recent episode of ATP Tennis Radio Podcast, Aneke talked about his son

Holger Rune is going through a difficult period on the tennis court, and his mother Aneke defended her son from the harsh criticism he received for some of his behavior on the court and for some of his words, harshly attacking the media. Rune’s mother also said she was proud of her son’s honesty.

The presence of Aneke Rune is a constant throughout the tennis season, always present in her son’s box, to support him and dispense some advice.

In 2023 Rune won the ATP 250 in Munich, won two ATP Masters 1000 finals in one month, first in Monte Carlo and then in Rome, and reached the quarterfinals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. And the credit probably also goes to mother Aneke.

Holger Rune’s mother shares a very harsh attack against media

Aneke said during a recent episode of ATP Tennis Radio Podcast: “I think it’s important for younger ones that someone dares to be themselves and it costs something, it does, it comes with a cost because you cannot please everybody if you say your opinion and Holger had a lot of bad in the media but he also has fans and followers in media.

I think if you look at other youngsters, nobody is perfect. If you try to pretend that as a young man, you’re absolutely perfect, then I think you give a wrong picture to all the other young kids that are 20 years old. They are not perfect, trust me nobody is perfect when they’re 20.”

She then added: “I always answer my son’s questions with complete honesty. It’s easy to be honest or tell uncomfortable truths as a mother, because we both know he can’t be mad at me forever. I trust me a lot, he’s a very good boy. open and with him you can talk about everything.

The higher your level and the more demanding you are, the more you need someone you can trust. I’m not asking for an euros to accompany him, my goal is for him to make his dreams come true.”
