Carlos Alcaraz is the King of Paris. The Spaniard won his first title at Roland Garros yesterday, beating a stoic Alexander Zverev in the final, who kept him busy for over 4 hours. Juan Carlos Ferrero talked about Carlos Alcaraz: “Our relationship is still the same,” said Ferrero. “It’s a very close relationship that can obviously change at different moments during the day. There are times when I’m purely his coach, but at other times I’m his friend.
“It’s true that kids today, as they get older, they find it harder to always say ‘Yes’. It’s a slow process of maturity that will come naturally as the years pass… And at 21, I don’t think anyone has been mature at that age. Obviously, playing tennis you mature a lot earlier, but I think he still has a ways to go because he’s very young.”
Juan Carlos Ferrero’s pupil during the award ceremony expressed all his satisfaction, which came after a not-so-simple period: “The last month has been complicated because of the injury.
