Darts sensation Luke Littler has landed another impressive accolade after being named one of the most influential young people in Europe by US business magazine Forbes
Luke Littler has transcended darts yet again after being named on a prestigious list of young personalities.
US business magazine Forbes has named its 30 Under 30 Europe 2024 list, and it features the 17-year-old, whose exploits on the oche since reaching the World Championship final have grabbed headlines around the globe.
Littler is joined on the list – which highlights the achievements of under-30s in sport, gaming and business – alongside the likes of Real Madrid duo Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior.
“The world’s gone mad,” said Littler. “You’re standing there throwing some tungsten into a board and then you’re winning yourself some money and you’re creating yourself some legacy.”
Since his incredible run to the final at Ally Pally, Littler has won World Series, European Tour and Players Championship events.
The teenager has also soared to the top of the Premier League table with back-to-back nightly victories and looks set to seal a place in the play-offs at the end of May.
Alongside his darts, Littler has become a genuine celebrity, starring in adverts, Comic Relief and on chat shows. During his recent appearance on the Jonathan Ross show, he reflected: “I might be classed as a celebrity, but I’m just a lad doing what he does best.
“Am I [a celebrity]? I don’t know. I’m just a dart player. I just get on with it, whatever comes my way. I just have to get on with it. Whether I say things and don’t back it up. But at the minute I’m saying things and do back it up.”
Asked what his favourite celebrity booking has been so far, he said: “Probably meeting up with The Sidemen. I’ve been watching them since the opening packs on FIFA 13 and 14.
“Just to chat with them and chill out when I’ve got a day off. It’s always good just to step away from the darting world.
“Even if it’s just a day at home. At the minute everything is going well. I’ve not been planning to win anything, just let my darts do the talking.”
