Novak Djokovic is recovering from the injury suffered in Paris
With the semifinal at Roland Garros Jannik Sinner is at 5300 points and his participation in the Atp Finals in Turin is a formality. Bad luck and injury permitting the Italian will be among the big players at the season-ending event, and after Roland Garros a small part of who the big players will be at the big Italian event begins to emerge.
Sinner is firmly in first place ahead of Zverev, second with 4385 points and refreshed after Paris. A final that nevertheless hurts and that sees instead the total revival in this 2024 of Carlos Alcaraz, who thanks to Roland Garros gains four positions and is now at 3900 points: also for him as for Jannik (given the victory of a Slam) the participation in Turin seems a formality.
Slightly losing ground is Daniil Medvedev who has suffered difficulties on clay while Tsitsipas remains stable. Of concern is Novak Djokovic’s situation ahead of Turin. The Serbian champion broke into the Top Ten thanks to Paris and is now in tenth place but will most likely miss the entire season on grass and without a Slam win Nole is at great risk and would even risk not defending the title he won last year.

During a long interview with Tennis365, Conor Niland commented on Novak Djokovic’s current status: “Maybe Djokovic will surprise us and come back as a commentator or a pundit when he is finished and everyone will get a different view of him.
“He is wobbling a little bit now and hopefully knee surgery will go okay for him, but it looks like he is finally getting to the end of the road.”
Novak Djokovic’s adventure at Roland Garros ended in the worst way. The Serbian champion, the defending champion in the Paris tournament, was forced to retire after his injury against Cerundolo and for that reason forfeited the day before his eventual match against Casper Ruud.
