Taylor Swift sent her fans into a frenzy by releasing a new music video for her song ‘Lavender Haze’ earlier on Friday, January 27.
The futuristic style video shows Swift stripping off while bathing in a purple pool, cuddling up to transgender model Laith Ashley, who plays her lover in the video, also naked.
She described her new music video as ‘a sensual 70s sleepless dream’. Also, like previous singles ‘Midnights: Bejeweled’ and ‘Anti-Hero’, she wrote and directed the short film herself.
“The video for ‘Lavender Haze’ is out now. There’s a lot of lavender. There’s a lot of haze. There’s my amazing co-star @laith_ashley who I adored working with,” Swift posted on social media.
“This was the first video I wrote of the 3 that were released, and this one really helped me conceptualize the world and mood of ‘Midnights’.
“It’s like a sensual 70’s sleepless dream. I hope you like it.”
Swift praised for including trans model in music video
On Twitter, her fans applauded the inclusion of a trans model in the video, as is the case of Laith Ashley.
“The love interest in Taylor Swift’s lavender haze is a trans man, peace and love on planet earth,” one fan posted.
“Taylor Swift likes trans people, I’m going to swoon,” were the words of another.
Ashley, 33, began transitioning from female to male in 2014 and, after two years on testosterone, underwent surgery in 2015.
Since then, Ashley began a career in modeling, getting to parade during New York Fashion Week.

There is no doubt that, in the early 1980s, one of the biggest rock bands in the world was The Police.
The distinctive voice of frontman Sting and the quality of their music endeared them to audiences all over the world and won them acclaim in the music industry. However, the band’s fame was short-lived.
With only five albums behind them, the last studio album was ‘Synchronicity’, released in 1983.
At that time, the band was already in its final days and the atmosphere among the members (Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland) was not the best.

Stewart Copeland: It was hell on earth
The group’s final days were turbulent. This was confirmed by drummer Stewart Copeland, who in an interview with the New York Post described the heated atmosphere in The Police.
