Aston Villa are tipped as favourites to sign Manchester City winger Jack Grealish in the summer transfer window.
The former Villa captain has endured a stop-start campaign so far due to injury problems and competition for places. Grealish was handed his eighth league start of the season against his boyhood club on Wednesday night as he looks to regain a regular place in Pep Guardiola’s side and stake his claim to be in England’s squad for Euro 2024.
Man City are aiming to win a total of five trophies this term, including a historic fourth consecutive league title. However, bookmakers have suggested that Grealish could be on the move in search of regular minutes at the end of the season.
Villa are viewed as favourites (5/4) to bring Grealish back to Villa Park in a remarkable move, three years on from his £100m transfer. That’s according to Gambling.com, who refuse to rule out an emotional return to B6 combined with the possibility of Unai Emery’s side qualifying for the Champions League.
Tottenham Hotspur (6/4) are narrowly behind their top four rivals in the list of contenders for Grealish’s signature. The 28-year-old was close to a Spurs move in 2018 and could take Timo Werner’s current place in the Spurs side.
Interestingly, Bayern Munich (5/2) are listed as the next most likely destination for Grealish, following in the footsteps of England teammates Harry Kane and Eric Dier. PSG (4/1) are also seen as another opportunity for Grealish to move abroad.
Arsenal (3/1) are challenging for the Premier League title but Gambling.com refuses to rule out Mikel Arteta’s side signing players from a direct rival, similar to the Gunners’ double transfer for Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr ZInchenko. Manchester United (11/2), Newcastle (6/1) and Chelsea (8/1) are seen as outside options for Grealish within the Premier League. Elsewhere, Inter Milan (10/1) are given a narrow chance, while a move to Saudi Arabia is priced at 14/1.
