Emma Raducanu smiles as she is seen leaving posh restaurant with pals ahead of return to tennis

EMMA RADACANU is taking some time to unwind as she continues her training before her highly-anticipated return to tennis.

The 21-year-old was spotted leaving a lavish London restaurant with her pals as she took a break from the court.

Raducanu could be seen heading home after a bite to eat in expensive Mayfair restaurant Gaia.

The fancy food establishment boasts a crazy menu with £340 caviar, £230 steak and £130 chicken.

Raducanu smiled as she left the restaurant alongside her friends ahead of a big week for her career.

The one-time Grand Slam winner is set for a return to action for Great Britain at the Billie Jean King Cup in France.

She hasn’t played since pulling out of the Miami Open last month citing lower back injuries as the reason for her exit.

The Canada-born star said: “I have been experiencing lower back pain and at this stage of my return to competition I don’t want to risk anything happening.

“I really tried my best to be ready and I’m sad to be pulling out of Miami as it’s a cool tournament but I wish the event all the best.”

It’s been a turbulent year for Raducanu who had previously missed 259 days of tennis following operations on both her wrists and one ankle.

Although since making that return she only managed five wins in five events before dropping out of the Miami Open in March.

Her time away from the court has seen her slip down to No.300 in the world rankings – a long way off her career high of No.10.

But she will now have the chance to quickly climb back up the rankings with the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart fast approaching.

For now Raducanu has been practising on clay at the National Tennis Centre ahead of her Billie Jean King Cup tie next week.
